Our Story

A new chapter for a historic space. How a converted firehouse became Atco's neighborhood brewery.

A New Beginning

More than a brewery.
A place to gather.

Brotherton Brewing Company is entering its next chapter. The name carries deep local roots — both in the history of South Jersey and in the brewery's original founding in 2015 — but what's being built now is intentionally forward-looking: a community-driven brewery designed to bring people together.

Brotherton began in 2015 as the dream of five lifelong friends, built on friendship, curiosity, and a belief that great beer should come with a sense of belonging. That spirit matters here. We're honoring it — while reimagining Brotherton as a true third space: not home, not work, but the place in between where real life happens.

This is a place to unwind after a long day, meet up with friends on a whim, bring someone new into the fold, and feel like you belong the moment you walk in.

The Beer

Crafted with curiosity.
Always worth coming back for.

At the center of this new chapter is the beer. Our program is led by Kyle Lieving, an experienced and award-winning brewer whose approach is rooted in both technical craftsmanship and constant curiosity.

Whether you are a dedicated enthusiast or a casual drinker, our tap list is designed to offer something for everyone. With a rotating selection of seasonal releases alongside a handful of dependable core favorites, the focus is on keeping things fresh, approachable, and consistently high-quality. We brew beer that is meant to be explored, discussed, and — most importantly — enjoyed.

The Experience

Built on hospitality.
Driven by energy.

While the beer brings people in, the experience is what makes them stay. Brotherton is being shaped by a hospitality-first mindset, rooted in two decades of expertise in creating high-energy events and welcoming spaces. The vision is simple but ambitious: to create a brewery that feels familiar the moment you arrive, but stays evolving through intentional programming, live music, and a service-first culture.

From laid-back afternoons to lively evenings, the taproom is designed to move with the natural rhythm of the community it serves.

The Space

A converted firehouse.
Built for versatility.

The backdrop for it all is a building with real character: a converted firehouse in the heart of Atco. Since the original taproom opened here in 2020, this space has served as a landmark for the neighborhood, and we are committed to making the most of its unique industrial charm.

Inside, the taproom is warm, inviting, and designed for conversation. Outside, the space opens up for large gatherings, seasonal events, and open-air community moments. It is a setting built for versatility — ready for everything from a quiet pint after a long day to the celebratory milestones that bring people together.
