Friends and Community

How It All Began

Brotherton started as the dream of five lifelong friends to someday open a craft brewery. To push the boundaries of craft beer style and flavor and to create some of the best tasting and most exciting beers for everyone to enjoy. Many years of planning, paperwork, construction and just plain jumping through hoops, that dream is now a reality.

Welcome to Brotherton Brewing Company.

Our History

On August 29, 1758, European colonists established the first Indian reservation in what would be the United States, in Shamong Township, New Jersey. The 3,000-acre reservation was created for the local Lenape (sometimes called Delaware) community and called the Brotherton reservation.

Brotherton Brewing Company was established in 2015, owning property and establishing their first production facility on this very same land. The production facility was quickly outfitted with a 15bbl brewhouse, (6) 15bbl fermenters, and a 15bbl brite tank. Brotherton partnered with Hunterdon Brewing Company and began production for distribution in June of 2016 with (3) core styles, being Brotherton IPA, Jersey Devil DIPA, and Green Earth Pale Ale. Since that time, we have expanded our portfolio to 60 plus styles, have been successful in touching over 500 individual locations throughout NJ and PA, and opened our current Production/Tap Room facility in Atco, NJ.

Having the time of our lives...Brewing Great Beer

The Brew Crew!
Use the unique experiences of each of our founders to become a leader in east coast brewing. The most fun way to do this is by sharing exceptional beer, and creating experiences with our friends and community.
What We Do
Craft beer. It’s never the same. It’s always growing. There’s always a new process to learn or a new style to try. At Brotherton Brewing Company we’re always pushing the limits, but at the same time, staying true to traditional values. Grains, Hops, Yeast….. Perfection!

Tradition is our keySPOT THE DIFFERENCE

Belgian Farmhouse Tradition
Our admiration for the history and tradition of farmer/brewer coupled with our agricultural surroundings will grant us many opportunities to utilize local botanicals, herbs and fruits to create various barrel aging projects and seasonal offerings.
Hoppy Ales
One of the most crucial aspects of Brotherton Brewing's philosophy is that variety is the key to avoiding monotony, and to constantly push our craft further, both for ourselves and as a way to stimulate the sensory experience of everyone drinking what we're brewing.
German Inspiration
There is much to be said for honoring the history of a country with one of the oldest and proudest brewing traditions in the world. Thankfully, We've learned a thing or two about German beer culture.
